PURSUE Energy
Services enjoys strategic relationships with
retail electric providers in the ERCOT (Electric
Reliability Council of Texas*) system.
These relationships and PURSUE’s
knowledge of the electrical industry in
general allows PURSUE to deliver electricity
at substantial savings compared to traditional
ways of purchasing energy.
Retail electric providers in Texas include
electric cooperatives, river authorities,
municipal authorities, investor-owned utilities,
and other entities who are members of ERCOT.
In the traditional system, a consumer
of electricity contacts a retail sales
representative, who typically has little
knowledge of electricity markets or the
needs of your unique situation.
The retail sales representative asks for
a price from a trade desk that deals with
ERCOT. The trade desk gets a price and
adds a commission to the price. Then the
sales person adds another commission and
quotes the final price to the customer.
By the end of this process, the customer
pays a price inflated by the various commissions
added by the middlemen. There is little
or no incentive for the sellers in this
system to provide the true lowest price
or the most cost-effective energy purchasing
strategy.
PURSUE eliminates levels of commissions
by dealing directly with energy traders
in the ERCOT system, thus attaining the
best price for our clients. In addition,
our expertise in the wholesale ERCOT power
markets allows us to advise clients as
to the best time to lock in power prices.
PURSUE’s partners have more than
20 years of cumulative experience in an
industry that is only a few years old.
Due to the recent unregulated energy debacles
(such as those in California) and the volatility
of the energy market, there has never been
a greater need for energy users to secure
help. PURSUE enjoys sound relationships
at the energy provider level; we also have
electric power expertise that adds significant
value to customers in the new, evolving
deregulated market for power.
*ERCOT manages about 85 percent of the
power grid in Texas, oversees transactions
associated with the newly restructured
electric market, and protects the overall
reliability of the Texas grid. ERCOT manages
the operation of more than 70,000 megawatts
of generation over more than 37,000 miles
of transmission lines. |
